The Marshalltown Community School District is committed to providing students with quality technology that enhances their learning experiences and prepares them for a future job market increasingly reliant on technological skills. Technology also improves access to educational resources and tools that may not be available in traditional classrooms, supporting a more dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Student Devices

The district provides a 1:1 ratio of Chromebooks for all students. Preschool through 1st-grade students are equipped with touchscreen Chromebooks to enhance their experience with the Project Lead The Way (PLTW) curriculum. These students also receive QR code badges through Classlink for easy sign-in until they are ready to memorize their ID number and password. Students in grades 5 through 12 are allowed to bring their Chromebooks home to complete homework or engage in additional learning. Chromebooks taken home are protected by a rugged Gum Drop case to safeguard them from drops or falls. Additionally, GoGuardian helps ensure student safety by limiting access to inappropriate websites.
