A pair of Bobcat juniors will travel to Wells Fargo Arena this week as the Bobcats qualified for the state wrestling tournament! Juniors Lucas Bantz and Xayvion Anderson qualified on Saturday in the MHS Roundhouse. Xayvion Anderson was named the district champion!
State wrestling begins on Wednesday and runs through Saturday, February 17th. Class 3A wrestling on Wednesday begins at 1:30 PM with the first and second round matches. Xayvion Anderson, the Bobcats' only returning state qualifier, is a 10-seed at 157 pounds. Xayvion will face Ben Backes of Cedar Falls. Lucas Bantz is a 20-seed coming into the state meet at 126. Lucas will wrestle Xavier's Jack Foster.
